Well from what i can see from that pic it's just the fins that are bent over
witch hurts nothing, i would say you pulled that for nothing....
but pressure test it like you said...

why else would the snow packed in there be green? and Is it possible that my sled drank most of the coolant without me knowing? wouldn't it have smoked pretty bad?
Also I didn't notice any sweet smell from the exhaust. I ran it pretty hard the weekend before in the radar runs. Made 6 passes, with no temp problems.

Crack
Probably a hair line crack right next to one of those bent overfins. Was your track super loose or what? How did the damage happen?

Track was not loose, however it looked like a pack of smashed a$sholes!
I had tried a few different control rod spacers trying to get better transfer. I think I may had gone a little too much. Plus my studs were like 1/2 to 3/8 taller than my track. So I think that may have played a role as well. My dealer installed the studs in 99 when I bought the sled, so I don't know what size they actually are. I do know that the stock yoko 3/4 track is deffinatly CASHED! It was a piece of shiat anyway! New 1" hacksaw going on this week!
BTW Madmatt sending you a check today. Thanks Again!

you guys were right!
well.... it seems you guys were right. I pressure tested the exchanger, and guess what? No LEAKS! Bummer. Well atleast I'll have a newer un damaged one under there. And on to the new problem. Where'd all my coolant go? I guess the only other place is into the motor and out the pipe! but wouldn't that effect performance? the sled was running great! and as I stated, there was no notice of coolant burning. So what do you guys think? I guess I'm gonna pull the head and try another gasket. Any other thoughts?
I'll post some pics of my pistons. I should be able to tell if I was burning coolant by the wash correct?

Ouch, that sucks! Lotsa work for nothing!
I know right! lota work. But oh well. I'm having fun doing it! I'm one of those guys who almost enjoys wrenching on stuff more than riding. Almost. Well I just pulled the head, and it seems the clutch and gear box cylinders were drinking coolant. clutch side more so. the cylinder walls were moist with coolant. the motor was completely drained before I took of the head, so no residual coolant dripped in. well maybe a tiny bit, but not as much as ws there. So I guess my 1 layer head gasket failed. the plugs look lean for sure, and the domes on those 2 cylingers were pretty clean. I'm not to good a reading piston wash, so I'll post up some pics for you guys to check out when the old lady gets home.
