I am looking foir a first sled and was mainly looking at vipers or SRX's But I may have a deal brewing to trade for a SXR 700. How is the performance comapred to the other selds? How powerful is the motor does it still get up and go even though it is a Non power valved motor? How does it run compared to a 01 Vmax and a Skipoo 600 Ho?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I love my SXR....it is not as fast as an SRX. If the 01 Vmax has the 700 it is the same motor. A well set up SXR will have no problem passing the 600HO.
my vote is to go with the npv 700, easier maint. and on gas better ride than a srx, the viper looks wise is more modern...if all out speed is not your top priority the sxr700 is a great sled. I have a 97 700 that is the best all around for me....CP

I saw vipers get smoked by zr 500 lol....... With a srx you willl smoke the shittt out of a 600 Ho.. if u get pipes and a clutch kit for the sxr you will be able to stand right by a srx

I glad somebody said something. A ZR500 will not take a Viper unless the Viper owner has never done any maintenance...and even then I dont think it would lose.

will the pipes and clutching kill gas mileage? by how much. How much does each mod add? What do the power valves do ?

In racing this weekend, my single (bored), clutched, notched, leaned, unstudded sxr700 took out a lightly modded F5, doo 500ss, and zr600. Was beaten by (but had a couple even runs when it hooked) with zr800 136", modded xc700 136", zrt600.
BTW, I love the bored can... not too loud at all, sounds friggin' awesome!
Also, on race scales, the sxr700 came in at 619# with a bit over 1/2 tank.
