atf in chaincase?

I wouldnt use ATF in my case, but if you do use a full synthetic oil...

try a search on here about that, you'll get lots of reading..

I used to run the suv full synthetic tranny fluid. I switched back to amsoil chaincase oil, and saw the same top speed #'s. just a bit of info. Maxdlx

It's cheap insurance...three times a season...is what I do...cheers
thats a waste of time. hell if tranny fluid protects our car's trannys for 3 yrs or what ever then I think it will protect a damn chain and gears for a season +.

I like to go into the chaincase at least once at the begining of the season, then in the middle of the season, and sometimes before a big trip i will change the fluid.... plus it's nice to get any contaminants out even if you are not splitting the chaincase. That's my opinion

But if you get contaminants it should get caught by the magnet on the plug. Then if you get to much on the magnet you have another problem and changing the oil wont help.

I have used atf for ever, at least 10 plus years. I change it out once a year, have yet, ever, to see a failure from using it, it will be just fine in there. Its cheap, provides more then enough protection, is high detergent, doesnt become like mollasas when cold and it WORKS!!!
