Those are some sweet photos. You notice how some of the neatest looking and best handling characteristics of a sled never even made it to production on the old proaction chassis Yamaha.... Like unequal length radius rods with wicked long travel shocks and tubular styled trailing arms up front. and of course that killer aluminum monoshock LONG TRAVEL skid

Keep those pics coming, very interesting to look at!

Ol vincent, i remember watching him,he sure fell off the sled allot...lol, he
needed some stick'um on his #$%&*!!

wonder what that guy is up to today..

It was the prototype version of what is now the Yamaha Monoshock rear suspension. They used snocross as the testing grounds for that suspension! It was never for sale for production and from what i understand it was NOT TRAIL FRIENDLY

Yea, he was deffinitely a Bonzi kinda ridder.
I believe he was doing R&D for Yamaha for awhile, not sure if he still is.

I'll have to check on the computer at home. Cool thread. I snocrossed an SX500R in 2000 and 2001 and probably have some pictures of David Brown and Yug somewhere. I finished in the top ten overall points in the WSA 500, 600, and open with the yamie. Guys would get seriously upset loosing to a Yamaha on the track. That was the most fun of all.

Ha! That was my first Sled!!! 1986 Yamaha SRV-540. I only paid $500 for it back in 1994 because it needed work and it ran like crap... well it ran like crap because of a dry-rotted carb boot! $20 later it was running like a champ! Then I needed to replace both shocks in the rear-skid.. That sled had the best weight tranfer for whatever reason! lots of memories on that olddie. I couldn't imagine Sno-Crossing that thing! Nope!
