I have a 01 500 sxr it runs fine when you first start it in the morning once it warms up it falls to one cylinder. I cleaned the carbs, checked the reeds, put a new coil on and also put new plug caps on. I also disconnected the tors and turned the carb heaters off. Any help in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. thanks Brent

Are you using more oil than normal?
Check you oil cable and see if it is out of spec. When I took the carbs off my viper and put them back on i had pulled the cable out by accident.
My question is could this be a stator/cdi problem since yu say it runs fine when cold and fall to one cylinder when hot.
Is it the same cylinder ll the time? What does the plug look like??

begin at the begining .compression test, plug cap resistance, how clean are the carb's make sure the needle & seats hold at least 5 psi, float levals are at mid to lean settings.Once 5000 km's are on the machine needle jets may be needed due to wear.Lot's of people forget this.
