Question for Viper Owners/Ex Owners

You know I'm really not too sure. I really do love that Attak, especially for LONG days on groomed trails. But then I think about the reality of it, and if I have the new one, how often am I really going to pull out the Attak? Only if I would be guaranteed beautiful groomed trails all day. In truth, it would kill me but the Attak would probably go down the road. Couldn't kill me as much as getting rid of the SRX right?

I have an 03, the mag cyclinder on mine burndowned a couple of years ago with around 3800 miles on it. Now have over 6500 miles on the sled and it's been fine so far.

4,000 on my 03 and sized the center bearing on crank. Have not taken apart the carb's yet to see if this caused my problem. Cracked my case, asking if it can be welded? Dennis

Man, and I was thinking of doing a top end this year. I only have around 2200 miles on mine. According to the others on here with 8,9,10 thousand miles on theres, this thing should last forever!! But seriously, no motor related issues and mine had motor work done with close to 0 miles on it. Only complaints with mine are belts and fuel milage !

Only 2200 your fine for a few thou yet,i would check your oil setting..

Don't know, I'd rather waste a couple hundred on a top end than have a piston come apart or something and cut the block in half !!!

Nothing wrong with that either...

nah, keep it together and save yourself some $$ :) do a leakdown and comp test, go from there. I wouldnt do it just because

2,000 miles on my '02 with not a single issue to date. I'd be curious to know how some of the ones that lost a cylinder/bearing with low miles were summerized and stored during the off season.

8000 miles on mine!

Mine just turned 8000 miles on my 03 yesterday. Wooo Hoooo. Never had the engine opened and this sled has been driven fairly hard. The compression was perfect at the start of the season and it still runs like the day I bought it with fuel mileage around 18mpg on average. It has always been stored properly away from sunlight and moisture in my climate controlled garage. I have never summerized it, I just start it once a month and let it come up to temp. Have been doing that for 15 years and never had an engine go. I figure I should get about 15k miles before I have to open it. Time will tell

just shy of 7,000 on mine and not a single motor problem. she runs great and it has been under water ;)! had a motor mount bolt break around 4,000 and some coolant sensor problems. i would have alot more but my attak is soooo addicting

i have 2200 on mine lost number cylinder 2 over the weekend. riding in the black hills. cant even pull engine over had to disconnect belt to be towed in. so hopefully tear down to find out what is actually wrong will be this week. :whine:
