Approx value of 97 Vmax 600sx?

Hi All,

My nephew is headed to college in the Fall and is wanting to sell his sled.. it is my old sled which I bought in 98 as a left over.

1997 Yamaha 600sx
-2,200 miles (only 500 in the past 3 years)
-Factory Ohlins shocks up front
-Factory stock Skidplate
-About 1000 miles on Kimpex or Camoplast Track (original was had too big or a tear to be studded)
-About 800 miles on the 96 Woody's carbide tipped studs
-Bender Racing Thin head gasket
-Bender Racing Clutch Kit/Helix
-Bender Racing Adjustable Transfer Rods
-Boyesen Carbon Fiber Reeds
-Factory Yamaha Hyfax replaced 250 miles ago
-Factory Yamaha belt replaced 250 miles ago
-Factory Yamaha 4th wheel kit for back wheels
-Brand new in package Woody's 6" or 8" carbides.
-Has all the Yamaha factory tunnel protectors
-Complete tune-up 250 miles ago (approx Feb 2006)
-Spare set of hood screens (ugly purple but nothing a can of Krylon can't fix)

Always ran Yamaha 2-s oil and factory serviced every 2 years. All work done by dealership.

Have 90% of the paperwork. Sled was always stored outside but in a covered trailer. Under the hood doesn't look that bad, but typical for a 10 year old machine.

Needs Tune-up and has small crack in headlight lens (can be fixed).

Thanks.. Since it needs tune-up I am thinking $1800 OBO as is..

NADA(national automotive dealers accosiation) which most dealers use list retail at 1100-1450. that is what a dealer could sell it for. nada is updated every few months. KBB's prices are way high
 
It all comes on how fast you want to get rid off you know...? If you ask under 1500 I'm sure it won't take long to sell now if you want more you might have it sitting there for a while till somebody falls for it.....Just my 2 cents. If is in good shape I will spend 1500 for it....Nick
 
Cool.... sounds good to me... it nephews sled..... I talked with my brother in-law with this info... we are gonna advertise it for $1500 OBOknowing it needs tuneup and see what happens...
