Hi guys, I took my sleds out this morning and had to come back. My sons sled is starting to over heat. As you guys know we both have the same sleds. We went about 9 miles then the water temp light came on. My sons sled was alot hotter than mine. It is full of coolant and when I touch the engine, hose's and then the heat exchange they are all about the same temp. If the water pump was gone would the heat exchange be the same temp. Also my sled seemed to run pretty good after cleaning the tank, pump and replacing the filter even though we only went 20 miles. I got about 10 mpg when i filled up but I really won't be able to tell untill I go a little further.

Just checked the water pump, working fine. Took off the thermostat and checked that and it is fine. I took the seat off and opened the bleeder valve and air came out, so I am sure the system had air in it. How is the best way to get the air out off the system when I refill it?

I just finished draining the coolant. It looked like it has been in their for a while it was a brownish color. Would that cause it to over heat? Also how much pressure should their be when you take the cap off?

Flush the system get new coolant then bleed,

to bleed raise the back up a foot or two have the rear cooler bleed bolt out
as your pouring in coolant, keep pouring till no air bubbles are seen, then put
bleed bolt back in,top off hose with coolant, lower the rear back down, raise
the front up a foot or two remove the front bleed bolt,do the same till no air
is seen put bolt back in top off hose..

i think there should be like 13-14 psi in a sled..

I did that yesterday, new coolant, raised the rear and bleed but I did not raise the front. I will try that today.I would of finish it yesterday if I didn't cut my finger and need 7 stiches. When I run the sled for about 10 minutes and take the cap off should I here the pressure or will just a little coolant come out? I know when I raise the rear and take out the bleeder no coolant comes out till I crack the cap. So I am assuming the cap is working. Also would the cap on the reservoir tank cause any problems if that is bab? Thanks for the help.
