hyfax

Every yamaha I have owned I run the track loose and always were to the line than get alot more miles after that. Just keep an eye on them. I have 1700 miles on mine and they wore quickly to the line and havent seemed to move for atleast 1000 miles. thanks Blue

I dont worry about them they are part of my summer routine matinance $20 and 15 minutes isnt worth losing sleep over. I avrage about 500mi a year plenty of hyfax left but i've seen what happens when neglected. my bros formulaIII were worn through and through the front skid wich took me 2 days to weld and grind.I just dont chance it By the way he bought it like that first thing i look at now when looking at used sleds

I have noticed that it all depends on your suspension setup....Recently I let my limiter straps out and the front of the slides are wearing a little. But they are all the way out. Every set that I have had seem to wear really fast for the first 500 miles then it seems like you can go forever without wearing them out.....I also will jump into the powder on the side of the trail from time to time in low snow conditions. Like everyone says just keep a close eye on them for a while....RR

my nytro is wearing them at the rear near the idlers but im not worried i have almost 1900 on them and im watching going to get a set and heve them sitting waiting to go on.

i run 5.375 wheels and small one at the bend and it helps alot with the wear. i get a whole season now. 1500 plus miles instead of 500.

I have always run my slides until there is almost nothing left. When slides are new and full thickness, the slides carry more of the weight of the sled and the wheels carry less. As the slides wear down, the wheels carry more of the weight. That is why the slides wear quicker when they are new and the wear decreases from then on. When the slides are worn quite thin, there is a heavy load put on the bearings and wheels and they take a beating from bumps.
I do replace a lot of worn out wheels with the tires gone and a lot of bearings. It may be better to replace the slides more often to save the wear on the wheels and bearings. The question then is; when would be the time to replace them?

i went through 3 pairs of hyfax in the last 1000 km. i extended my venture to 151'' with hartmans kit and i had to elimanate a set of wheels up front because my W arm would hit it. i got a small set of wheels comming and after seeing AMATOSRX's suspention im gonna add another set in the middle to. i hope it helps!
