I got 2" riser blocks on my Viper with no trouble. I have read on here people getting 3 - 4" of rise but according to the way mine looks, that much would be really tight on the cables.

I had my MM bars raised up with a standard block 2" riser and I don't think I could have gone any further without atleast going to a longer brake line. I have since replaced the riser a POWERMAD PIVOT ADAPTER. Just the adapter raises my bars 3" ( you can add block risers if you need it taller)and allows me to pivot my handlebars forward ( I ride standing up alot of the time)a couple inches and gives about the same clearance. I wouldn't suggest raising anymore then 2". It's hard to say exactly some years the cable length is different. Watch your routing, it's easy to pull on oil pump cable and not know it.
I have a 2000 and have a 3" riser on mine and no problems at all....
Thanks for the replies. I have a 2006 Attak that I ride most all of the time. I do like to get on my 2000 sx700r once in a while, but I have gotten used to a higher riding position. I've found that the sxr's handle bars are too close to my knees. If I raise it 2 inch. that will make it more comfortable when switching from sled to sled. I just can't part with it, as the sound of the 2-stroke triple is like heaven to the ears. Thanks again, vmaxcraz.

I did my 2000 sx700r this past fall and found 3.25" to be fine. I started with a 6" riser and cut it down so that I wouldn't have to replace any cables. You can cut them on a miter saw with a carbide tipped saw blade.
