try pushing back on the first plate and turn a bit if. are u just trying to pull out the spring how is it stuck???

I prefer using the 2 clutch tools. A "C" shaped holder that will keep it from turning then the proper puller with a 2 foot breaker-bar attached. Once it is good and tight if it does not want to pop off either leave it for a while in tension and see how it goes or smack the inner sheave/ring gear part with a dead blow hammer. You could also put a small squirt of grease on the tip of the puller before you thread it in.
Put grease in the hole then thread the puller in, it will create a hydraulic and should come right off. If not, you may have to add heat.

I always use the grease trick....you can add quite a bit to the in the hole where the puller goes. Then tighten up the puller and when its real snug if it still wont come off take a rubber mallot and tap on the clutch, spin tap, spin tap, at that point tighten it up and let it sit for a while pull out the puller and repeat....it will come, but they can be a bugger
