ah............. and the confusion starts again! Help me out here Tony. Do I want red or green spring? 4.5 or 5.5g? Just when I think I'm all set, here comes another wrench.
RUN THIS EXACT.
8DN-20 WEIGHTS
YAMAMA W-W-W SPRING FOR PRIMARY
51-43 HELIX @ 2-6 80 DEGREE
GREEN SPRING.
NOW. IF YOU HAVE 8DN-20 WEIGHTS THAT DO NOT HAVE ANY TUNEING RIVETS IN. YOU WILL NEED TO ADD THESE IN BOTH HOLES. IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A SET, YOU WILL ONLY NEED TO REMOVE TIP RIVET. BACK RIVET CAME WITH THIS IN SRX.
PART # YOU NEED
YAMAHA PART NUMBER
RIVET #90261-06033-00
W-W-W # 90501-583L1-00
GREEN SECONDARY # 90508-556A2
3:16 (yammie tony)

daman, instead of red spring, should be using green spring in secondary.
Red CAN be used too....

www will give a 42ish ingagment so if your a heaver guy you may want that, a y/s/y will give ya 37-3800 rpm if your a lighter guy may want that..to help with traction outa the hole on snow

well i got a helix from mr viper 52-42 and it seem to shift very fast so i don't have alots of weight in it 3.5 heel and 3.5 tip ported srx so rpm around 8600

clutching

I find it interesting that with the proven 51-43 / 8dn-20 setup that half of tuners recommend the red spring and other half go with the green spring.

To further complicate matters, many recommend the red sping (which is a softer spring than the red) at a low 60 twist while others recommend the stiffer green spring at 80.

The difference between these two secondary spring setups should be quite significant !!

The green spring is better for trail/groomed/field riding where you'll want
better back shifting.

red is better for top end, lake run's,where your going to be mostly WO and
back shifting is'nt importain to ya..

kinda why I amswered what is really a BEST clutch set up. There are many combos that can work well. I tried a "proven" set up for my Aaen piped sxr and it did nt work for me. I needed 5 grams more in the tip to make it work and 20 degree less secondary twist and I am not getting real close to what my motor and pipes want.
