A friend has a 97 600 venture twin that is stock and clutched for 0-2500 feet and wants to take it out West. He said they would be around 6500 feet, what would he need to change in is clutching? It has the smart carbs on it so I assume jetting will be ok.
Thanks

I ran my 600 twin at 8000' and up with the following: 8cr weights, 3.6 in each hole, GPG spring (short cover). Secondary was a straight 45 with a green at 70. I was just a touch under on my rpms at 10000' so I ran a small drill bit through the tip rivets and it was good then. Gives you an idea of one place to start anyway. Actually if you ran a straight 47 at 6500' with the above you'd probably be pretty close. (Close enough for one trip anyway)
