I will give you the best advice i have ever heard.Throw every thing you got in your trunk and take some wrenches go out on the river and set it up untill your happy.Same conditions and you can feel a differance right away better or worse.I run dnoo with steel t nuts steel bolts and one steel washer on the tips. And that is the only way i was happy setting it up after porting.H\C with no picks must spin like crazy.

yes Hc's without picks really spin track like crazy.Studs would of come in handy today. There were a lot of ice on corners on the river today and nearly had a heart attack when the back end was coming around on me a few times.Certain parts of the river is worse then other parts.I went an extra 40 miles further out then I am familiar with and man that ice scares the crap out of me.When the back end starts to go...look out.I started to slow it down a lot. When I got back to home base,a little closer to my area, the river was great and great to open it up 70-80 on the corners.
its spin but godd it pull went its cold and hard on the ground ... well with a ripsaw 1 inches.... best thing to do its try with a radar gun without that or gps well u need a body at your side to see the difference .. but some day set-up work awsome and someday it will be so so depend how cold it is and snow condition

WITHOUT GETTING INTO WHO,s ON FIRST, WHO,S ON SECOND HERE, MY BEST ADVISE IS TO TEST YOUR DEFFERENT SET-UPS TO SEE WHATS BEST. AND GUYS YAMAHA DID FOR A SHORT TIME MAKE A 5.0 RIVET. PART # WAS 90261-06035-00 3:16 (yammie tony)

Hi guys. If I use a y-g-y spring(stock SRX spring),will it not slow down the shift and cause me not to over -rev out of the hole.Out of the hole now with w-w-w spring I launch to about8400-8500.WOT ends up at about 8800-8900.I can also use a red secondary spring instead of the green spring also atmaybe 70 wrap.Just wandering!!

5.5 gram rivets
Guys,
I got my 5.5 gram rivets from Hauck motor sports a few years back, You could also try Richmotorsports as he may carry them. They're not from Yamaha !! All they are is a short bolt and nut. Be sure to use locktite. Ive used these for years and whats nice is they are easier to install than the Yamaha rivets. : )

Don't get me wrong here but your always posting about clutching problems and help?Have you ever thought about going back to stock so you have no problems.

I am going back to stock basically, but will always have that over-rev on top which is not really a good thing.

ebdless is rightwhere do you begin...lol
Well I put stock y-w-y in the clutch and still have 5.5 in both holes.Red spring in secondary at 60 wrap also.Really drops my engagement to about 3500.Out of the hole still launches to 8500 and climbs to 8700 WOT.Just can't seem to get that 8200 launch and climb to 8500 setup for some crazy reason.Hit a speed of 106 mph at 8700 rpms.
Stock in weights is 3.6 and 4.5 tip.3.6 would probably get my engagement up some, but if I go to 4.5 tip..there will be more over -rev going on.My other choice for now is to go back to stock 47 helix and see what goes.

How long of a run are you doing when you get the over -rev? I'm no expert here but it seems to me that in a long pull a little over rev would be expected if your clutches have shifted all the way out and you've run out of gear. Plus wouldn't some over-rev aid in a higher top speed number as speed is a function of the motor rpm?
Maybe I'm way off base here. If so no problem just nicely tell me so and I'll go
away:-)

I am in a good mile stretch for sure.I am told and Turk will verify, you need to get your torque rpms to 8200 and your peak HP rpms to 8500.It should pull slowly to 8500 from 8200.After 8500 the engine is starting to make less power. If I have to much weight in the arms then am I not up shifting to quickly?

read some of the posts from last season.Turk told me the 51/43 is no good to use with the 8DN-20's.To shallow. He said try 48/40..which I don't have.He said 47 is better then the 51/43 and I tried it last year and they seemed to work well.So I am out the door to switch the helix and go for another run. Will let you know daman

When Turk told you 48-40, I can almost guarantee you he meant an Advant-edge 48-40 helix which is very close to most other 51-43's like Dalton.
I have the 48-40 advant-edge in my 02 srx and it works great for me.
Dont try and buy one, the company no longer sells to the public. : (
