will a viper clutch work on a vmax sx 700

Yes if you set it up correctly. Anything newer than 1997 used a taller spring. You will have to find the right combination of spring, weights and rollers to match your setup.

thanks my clutch has a chunk taken out form a broken belt and my buddy has an old clutch sittin around. he sold his viper and got a nitro.

ummmmm, I didn't think they changed to the taller covers until 1999, and then only the sxr's and srx's, But I've been misinformed before!.....
