I just got a 250, was wondering what the options for clutching for this model, other then the stock clutch. Or what to do with the stock one, we are oval racing this sled. Thanks

The vent pipe with the cap on it. I was told its there so you can see the fuel level within the carb and adjust it. My vent tube has stress crack in it and leaks.
There must be a primary/secondary combo better than stock setup. The primary on the et250b which we have is as simple as can be but hopefully there is a trick setup for them. Good luck and keep me posted.

Won't a comet clutch work?
i beleive the big mod back in the day was to put a comet clutch on them. My dad's 79 et250 had on and on the pack the little bugger would pass new dual carbed 340's on top and walk away from them. The only problem was down low(0-20km's) but back then i was 14 and didn't know much about clutching so.... that was the way it staid. Other problem with them is the type of secondary they have, I don't know if you can change the helix.

I have'nt messed with the sled, is it a 30mm crankshaft?
How would a 102 work?

77-79 250's had the splined crank with (i think iwas only 11 at the time) a taper at the engine. my dad cut the spline off and put together a srx clutch out of scrap parts and we went drag racing. also ran a cat clutch on it. good luck

80 and up cranks are of 30mm tapered design. Install one and the world is open to possibilities.
