My wifes got a 2003 v-max 600 triple, complaining about exhaust fumes, not just her, when she pulls next to me smells very rich.

Any ideas?? When I got home took exhaust off, check for leaks (none), gaskets ok, and inside of manifold was nice tan color, also plug had tan to a little black on them, also seams good. Did notice exhaust is 8" further ahead than where my viper dumps out. Anyone got any ideas, she said seamed worse than past couple of years, running same Yamaha oil and Super gas??
Would guess running maybe rich, but she will run flat out across lake also, dont want to stick motor. Maybe just rich at low speeds???

check to make sure the oil pump cable isnt split at the adjuster. also make sure its cliped in at throtel block. after that i would check oil pump adjustment. if that all checks out and ur still running rich it might be the pump. when they fail they usualy pump way to much oil. how much oil are u using per tank of gas?

I've had sled three years, its always used more oil than viper (heard thats normal) Only thing I did over summer was add two inch risers, i check throttle cable and chock cable, never looked a oil pump cable! Where is that? could that be it?

How do I adjust oil pump????????????

On your '03, yammie calls for 22-24mm, start with 23 and go from there, try
to shoot for a usage of 31oz's per tank(12 gal's) of fuel..
