Top End

well now you can convert your single headlight bulb , to dual fairly easy , headlight ,pod, windsheild, ,lucky for you , headlight and black windsheild i got ...

I haven't looked yet but I believe it has the '98-'99 stator and flywheel. I heard all electrical items had to be replaced???

the 98 srx were factory with a .72 lug and that track was very fast . but after that yamaha submitted to the critism of the tech -perts and lined there srx 's with .92 lugs in 99-00 and those things weighed 44lbs no studs . not even a vk could spin those ..lol...and this is when i ran a 9791 on my sxr 2000 and it was a 120-122 mph runner with 96 studs , and my 600 srx had the factory track and it was as fast or better than a 9791 118-121mph . you better put studs on that puppy and try her on ice ...

I have a old Polaris 500 track on it, only 5/8" lug with NO studs.

I am not running a SRX track. The track that was on this when I got it had a 1" with 142 studs, 2 had ripped out and left 2 nice 1" square holes in the track right where one of the center rear wheels rode so I changed this out with a Polaris track I had sitting around.

With all this response you guy's all got me wondering if I just got a bad GPS reading??? I will retest this on Saturday and let you all know what happens.

128 does sound high but I dont think it is impossible. One thing people do is over stud their sleds and this all takes up valuable hp for top end. I was running 96 picks on the stock track, completely stock 2001 SRX except a set of small wheels added and ran, on radar, 113 +114 in 1000 ft ice track. Track wasnt great, full tank of gas and both runs I had to let out around the 700 ft mark to straighten out and then got back into it. I think if not for letting out and in better conditions, I would have been close to or at 120 so I think it's possible in perfect conditions with a well set up sled. Just my 2 cents.
I call BS on this story!! The world record in 1000' is 114.893mph in 1000' on a stock class sled. This sled is fully blue printed chassis and engine! Speed track, picks and years&years of testing.

Is he running 1000ft? My 00 srx run s 116 in about 1000ft on hard pack.
bring it out to an NSSR event then next year!! You will have the World Record easily if it runs that good!! LOL

a basic SRX can only reach 110 mph under ideal conditions of sled and surface. It is only geared for about that if conditions are good which is not the norm for most riders. If you get anything beyound that it is because you spend extra $ 1000's on it to do so..

I did see 115 mph on my gps with my 2003 zr 900 lake run smooth fast conditions ect.. never ever saw that again ! My apex would top out at 106 gps but the speedo read 120 mph. All speeds were recorded via gps probaly over a mile run.

It's geared for more than 110 if you drive it for a longer distance, say a mile.
I got 115 on gps with 22/38.

Since I first posted on this topic back a few years ago, we have had 3 stock 700' s run over 125mph. Is 128 possible. Hell yes! Box stock no, but set up yes.

forgot to mention this way on gps, not sure exactly how acurate it is, but the sled runs real good. now that i have a job with weekends off i will try to get to some radar runs for sure. i wouldnt be in the the stock class either so i doubt i would set any records.
