Bad Voltage regulator-rectifier?

I assume my 2002 viper ER has one of these. Can you tell me where it is- what it looks like? Could this be the cause of my battery(new) draining down after a few time of use? Headlights, warmers, guages all work fine.

put a volt meter on your batt.,should have OVER 12v's when running and
rev'en it up(2,000-2,500rpm)..

Looks like it should be on the right side mag side...

look for 3 white wires a red and black wire going to it, oval type plug,three
whites on the bottom red and black on top to each side nothing in the middle.

yup right side(sitting on sled) above your foot,alum type box small
with heat sincks on it.
