"You know go out on the rat and giver crap."
If I giver crap on the rat,I am a dead man.Either from a head on collision with another sled and I'll be buried by a huge drift after I lose control and slam head on into it.They'll find me during spring thaw!!!!!LOL
There is something like 4083 corners on the Rat River. It's one after another.

I just wanted to know if thr rods I have on now in the rear hole position is the right position. These rods were added to this skid before I bought it.It was from a SXR.Now that I have altered the skid back to a stock SRX specs
ie)short travel shocks, are these rods really gonna work properly for it a or am I supposed get the shorter rods and mount on the first hole on rails. That would give it a more vertical angle.
bluewho, right now when I sit on the sled I will get a 50/50 setting(spacing). It will not bottom out unless I jump off the garage roof onto the seat.It seems hard to bottom them out is what I am saying.I thought that when I had the longer shocks in there that the rods were transfering a little easier. Now does this seem this way because I switched to shorter shocks and the angle has changed is all I really need to know.
What is the basic setting up of the rods anyway. When sled sits on the floor with no one on it,what is the spacing on the bottom of the rods supposed to be.How do you determine how much of a spacer is needed there? With mine right now I have a stock 12 mm spacer and there still is some space left to fill to the nut.So I added what I had sitting around and that is another spacer aprox 5mm and then tightened the nut. With this setup I can just spin them spacers in there with my fingers yet.

wed river...ok!!! YOU MEAN RED RIVER bluewho.Get the name straight man......LOL just bugging ya..Canadian to Canadian.
Well I found a pair of shorter rods in my shed from last year that were on the X.They were from Royal Dist. The adj. nuts on them are crappy..with a set screw that strips at the head easily.USELESS...but took the ones on the X that are on there now and the adj. nuts from the Max.Perf. ones fit the other ones.SO...long story short,I installed them this morning and in the front holes of the rails.I put on the 10mm spacers top and bottom.Adjusted for a tad more then 50:50 when sitting on sled.Bottom gap is .25 gap and the top gap is .375 gap.My height to the top of the bumper from floor is 20 inches. The height in the front to center of bumper is 16.5 inches. The back end of thee track is raised off the floor a little, but when I sit on the seat it all goes down flat. Now when I sit on her,I notice the front bumper go up a little. This tells me I am rocking on the front of the track.Should I tightened up limiters a little more to level out the skid.
I should now get a proper transfer. What about them spacings on the rods..is that about correct ,or should I leave more gap on top for transfer.

well the beast handled real well today.Bad day for driving, cloudy and cannot see how the terrain is ahead of me.Had to good hits on the front ski's today, hit a good solid pile of snow today,it was such a sound that I had to stop and go back to see what it was.Chuncks of snow ripped apart from this pile.Front end is still solid.I only had the guts to hit around 105 mph today,a little scared of hitting a spin out pile of snow somewhere and go flying off the slede.
The sled now pulls like it should. My transfer rods are working great.I have an amazing hole shot now.It is wicked how it now pulls, front goes up a bit and carry the ski's for 500 feet no problem while accelerating.WOW!!!!Can this SRX now move out and my clutching is right on.Instantly when I hammer the throttle, she is off like a bat out of hell. This is what the SRX is known for...off the line sled which will be hard to beat.
I am still getting that hang up on rpm's sometimes at around 7500-7800.I hammer it and she revs and then hangs at that rpm,off throttle and right back on and she is up to 8500, but not every time.Other times no problem.Do you think it is clutch related or what.Another friggin problem to solve. But sled is crazy fast of the line.Give me a -15 to -20 C in temps and look out.0 C today not the best for testing and wet snow. But am happy with the way sled performed over all today.

Your little bog sounds just like a power valve is hanging up there blueboy.Sometimes it sticks and sometime she dont.Put some picks in that sled and i know you will get off shakeing your left leg after some ice on the wed wiver.
