wich way does the bottom gear go on a 01 srx? the flanged larger piece in or out? thanks..

The flange goes towards the inside.

dont forget there is a bushing that goes in first then the gear collar towards the inside, with the chain on it should line up almost flush with the outside of the casing .top and botttom. make sure to use locktite on the bottom bolt as they are known to work there way out and chew a hole through the cover .
