I couldn't find any shop (locally) that I had enough confidence in to let them deck the cylinders. Consequently I reduced the amount of cylinder lift, used a single layer of head gasket and cut the heads to zero squish.
I realize that you can rechamber the heads but with the amount of lift that I originally want to go with my squish would have still been too much.
As far as porting goes it's really not the answer on this motor, you get up to a 10hp gain from a cylinder lift and windowing the pistons.
I run the sled in amateur snow drags and just wanted to pickup a couple of extra horses without spending a fortune.
