8t extrovert, and the anti stab wheel kit

I'm running 8T extroverts on a 98 Mountain Max without the anti-stab wheels and have no problems. Been like this for three years.
 
I have a poo skid plus a set-back and wouldn't run without them. Tracks are expensive but being stranding deep in the offtrail without a track would be bad. Cheap insurance IMO, but I do ride with friends that don't run them.
 
I'm running 8's with the wheels. I added the wheels because with the extros I can run the track stupid loose and never ratchet. However the looseness makes for a lot of slop and the potential is there to stab a window. So I added them for piece of mind and one less thing to worry about.

I also run my track sloppy loose with anti stabs. Sled coasts so much easier with a loose track.
 
You dont have to.But i added them after i stabbed my track .It was due partially to running over water.Ruined a brand new 1.5" ripsaw.

Stab wheel kits help prevent track degradation and spearing by eliminating track contact with the tips of the suspension rails. These wheel kits replace the stock limiter strap shaft. You need to know if you have a centered or off-center limiter strap. The two styles include all of the necessary hardware needed to mount the wheel kit to the tips of your rails. Includes four wheels, shaft, spacers and bolts. The wheels are 2 3/4" OD and are a rubber compound. In most instances, rail modification will be needed and often the plastic rail tips will need to be removed.
