Keep in mind our 600 twins are ok to use much less than 87 octane due to the thich head gasket, now if you ahev removed a layer or 2 from the head gasket, you might not want to use less than 90 or so.
I wouldn't use anything lower then 87(and thats iffy) if i were you, i stick
with 89,,for one the owners manual calls for it and two even with the thick
H/G i have OVER 125 psi on my twins, a healthy twin will have good
comp. even with the thicker stock HG..
