When I ahd my srx7, I had 2 pull through right after I got the sled.
I then cleaned and adjusted them every 500 kms with not one pull through for 3000 kms. Clean em religiously and it will help alot.

yup, they get expensive if not properly maintained!!!!!
I would rather have some pulled thru powervalves on a 8 year old sled that can be repaired very inexpensively instead of catatrophic engine failure on a 2 year old skidoo just out of warranty. Did you think this thru before u posted????

lil racer , i think the fellas are pretty bang on, i know their is alot of shit they could have done better , collar bearing on the axle , power valve cables , suspension , but you are comparing apples and oranges your ski doo's never had a servo motor system , its funny how yamaha comes out with something ,, 4 strokes that can actually beat 50mph and then the rest catch up , so when you build it first its not hard to copy and improve !!!!!! my buddy wanted to try my sxr on a ride and i ended up parking his formula 3 99 on the side of the trail and walking , you got to be a good rider to stay on those things , no wonder they need dual runners !!!!! i did not want to wreck it .... not mentioning after 5 miles i thought i neede a thumb transplant....

You guys have it all wrong. The rest of the sled ROCKS ! I just don't know why they cut the slot all the way through for the cable?? If they left half the slot there would have been a lot more strength !! I fixed all of them myself so they're not up for grabs.I'm sure they'll be fine now. As for ski-doo and catostophic failure....i've never had a problem with the valves on any of my Mach Z's . I also never had a problem with performance of my Doo because of the valves being out of adjustment !! I was only making reference to this being a poor design on YAMAHA's part . I am only voicing my opinion on the valves .I'm not here running down the "SRX" hell i own 1 !! By the way, i thought this through before reposting but thanks for asking !
I own 2 SRX's and my 2001 has 12,000 kms with original power valves and cables. Motor still has 125lbs. compression right across. Run PREMIUM gas only and SYNTHETIC
OIL. Clean your valves twice a season and you will never have a pull through. Proper maintenance is the key to trouble free riding.
