I was out riding yesterday only doing about 30mph in a ditch that had about 2 feet of loose snow on top of harder pack.
All of a sudden with NO warning (exactly the same feeling and sound as breaking a belt) the rpms went up, so I slammed on the brakes and took a look.
Here is what I found in the pics included.
Does anyone have any ideas?
I know my track tension was fine...it would never ratchet on me.
I checked the limiter straps and they were both still ok.
I've almost put on 1000 miles onto this setup this year too!
WTF?

Is your front plastic sliderail cap still on? Maybe it stabbed the track?

My buddy had a simaler thing happen to him but instead of catching the rail, it ripped his slide off the screw and brought it up around the track, this was day one of our 3 day ride, 0 degree temps. Nothing went right that weekend....
I feel for ya man, if that happened to me i would be so pissed! now i will make sure i check for the caps before every ride, that doesn't Look like a cheap fix either, hopefully your tunnel is ok.

When you replace the cap use a stainless steel bolt and ny-lock. They don't loosen over time the way a rivit does.
Don't replace with a cap, get a set of anti satb wheels for the tip of the rail. You never have to worry about it again. Cheap 100 bucks from www.hiperf.com Maxdlx

Thanks!
it will also free up HP, as the track roles easier. I run them on all of my sleds for the past 3 sleds. Maxdlx
