Custom throttle lever/block?

Broke my throttle block on my SXR today. When I took a look at it, it looked like it had been glued together earlier. The price for a oem block seems to be ridiculous. I don't need engine switch-off button or oil wire puller.

Can I use a lever like this without the throttle being hard to push?
Will I be able to reach full throttle with a lever like that?

Edit: Forgot to mention the carbs are 33's enlarged to 35,5.
 
Gave up the idea of that lever. Ordered a two-piece aluminum block and mounted the stock lever on it. I think it'll work just fine.

Had to trim away some plastic in the marked area or the cable would either be too strecthed or the lever would hit the bars before full throttle.
