Had my sled out yesterday and it acted like I fouled a plug. (97 sx 700) Replaced the plug with a brand new one and same thing motor sounded like it was under powered and weak so I changed the plug again and samething. At about 4500 RPMs it pops and spits alittle bit but still underpowered. Could this be the coil gone out. Maybe a bad wire or cap? I pulled the wires off in the coil it looked fine. Plug looks brand new after i run it up and down the field and pull it (no brown or nothing like brand new). This is the cylinder on the stator side. The other two cylinders run great. Any ideas? Thanks for the help -Ryan

Could be electrical or fuel. Test the coil and the plug cap for resistance. Do some searches on how to perform these tests. Pkug caps are easy as you just unscrew it from the lead and measure across. It should be close to 5000 (5K) ohms. The coils have 2 circuits to test (Primary and secondary). If everything checks out, maybe look at fuel circuits.
