I need alittle help, I was putting in a new stop switch and when I tightened the throttle unit to the handlebar I overtightened and it snapped basically where the throttle cable goes and connects to thumb throttle yamaha # 8AV-83963-00-00. My question is how do the handle grips/thumb warmer come off? It looks like a rivet is there do I need to drill this out and it will slide off? I am only going to replace the plastic piece I broke not the grip assembly. Thanks for your help.

The grips are glued also. Easiest way I found to get them off is with an air hose. A skinny metal nosile works great. Just blow the air in from the thumb side while you work it off. Don't stick a screwdriver inside the grip to get it off or you'll destroy the heater inside.
