about a month ago i was riding when my overheat light came on.turned machine off right away and inspected.there was coolant coming out of relief hole behind waterpump.soo got home and pulled the motor without pulling the waterpump cover fist to investigate.2nd pulled cover and found the bolt holding on the impellar has came off!so went ahead and freshened up motor since it was out anyway, replaced water pump mech seal, oil seal impellar and cover, reinstalled the motor today ,filled up with coolant ,and damn its leaking the same as before from the relief!!what gives ,anyboby!

is it leaking just as bad or little less???
just as bad!mainly with the engine running.
i pulled the pump cover to inspect this time everything looked normal though.

Have read before it may slow and stop with running time..
maybe im over thinking this but i wondering if theres a issue with the shaft that caused the problem originally?do you know if the shaft can be pulled out without splitting the cases again?

I was just about to ask if you checked the shaft for any burring,no she has
to come appart..
to come appart..
damn i thought that would be the answer!i didnt really inspect it to good because i just thought it was a simple deal.the impellar came off,it lost spring pressure and leaked.ya know thinking about it though,it seems the gear in the center is bigger than the end that drives the oil pump,so wouldnt it pull past (under)the crank and out?
its held in there by a retaing clip,i remember seeing.

Personally i've never done one so unsure, has to come back out and apart
from my understanding..
from my understanding..
i did a search and found some info you chimed in about, sir damen, from a guy with a mm700 that just lifted the motor out partially and did it,implying not splitting the cases,do you happen to remember?sorry i justREALLY DONT wanna split again.with 2 or 3 rides left this year.thanks
Make sure the bolt for the impeller didn't break off the first time. Won't let the impeller seat all the way, had to easy out the tip of the bolt.
that must have sucked!originally when i pulled off the cover the impellar and bolt were floating around in there.i bought a new oem bolt and it went right in,luckily
