I took the SRX out this Saturday morning. The conditions was identical to the previous weekend. I got a 8DN belt and could not make it grab like the previous Gates Xtreme. There must be a lot of belt slip with this belt??? I pushed as hard as I could and only got to 101 mph GPS. Also besides never getting to the "tunnel vision" speeds I started hearing and feeling a clunk somewhere in the front! It would only happen over 90, lower speeds felt like I was riding on a gravel road with wheels that had no tires! It also seemed like there was a rear brake on which I knew was not possible. So I shut down the speeds to finish the trip, which it did. I saw a bunch of missing track clips now and am guessing I probably got a bearing on it's way out??? I guess I'll never know for sure what the top end is but I know the sled will do over 100 mph and as for the 128 mph I got with the same GPS, I'll have to assume it was a fluke reading 
A guy thought I might have something that went out on my clutch??? Where do I start with this? The bearings?

well, I would look over the skid real good to make sure you are not catching and ripping the clips off to start will. How are the slides. Then I would start it up on the stand and try to figure out where the sound is coming from. Take a look at the bearings and the clutches while it is running. Post back what you find.

I will have to wait until next Monday to get it on a stand, Marty's in Florida. This was a wierd feeling though, it kind of felt like the chain might be skipping or the track ratching a tooth just here and there. Nothing consistant. Slides are not even to the extrudion marks on the side so about a 1/4" left at the lowest spot. I will look at the track better to see if there are any rips starting.
One thing for sure this seemed like a station-wagon compared to the sports car I had the previous weekend!!!(my buddies ZR600 kept up with me! Shhhhhhhh!) Embarrassing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
