A pal of mine is having a radar run in a few weeks at his camp that is right in front of a lake i have a 02 viper all stock except for a mbrp can is there any clutching i can do to increase my top end or at least keep up to my buddys 05 f7?

I thought the savings in weight would make up for the loss in hp,plus it sounds so good with the can but i guess you cant have the best of both worlds.

Does the can rob me of that much hp?.engagement is at 3800 rpm and wot is at 8500
Sounds OK so far. What have you been seeing out of the speedo with it?

Well I can tell you it's performing exactly as it should with stock setup and 1-1/4 track. There are a bunch of good heel clicker setup on here that will get you some more top end, but you've got limited time to purchase, install and tune. You'll also need a different helix to go with them. I think based on your time constraint I’d just put the stock can back on. You could also try loosening the secondary spring 10* and see if it will hold RPM on bare ice.

I won't like to you... a stock Viper will most often loose to a stock F7. Those things are fast. I ran my 03 stock Viper in a 1.4 mile radar run and lost by about 2 or 3 mph... It's not much, but the F7 will take you.
The F7 used to be my favourite Arctic cat sled, but when I was checking out that guys sled, I founf the fit and finish to lack compared to the Viper. The seat and tunnel make the F7 look like a cheap toy.
The Viper will beat all stock 600's... I didn't loose to any... and I even took 800's... Let yus know how you ran.
I did 93.6mph in 1.4 mile.

Well i was thinking of purchasing a kit from hauck industries a freind of mine bought a kit for his srx and he said it was like a different sled but for now since the radar run is in a week or two i think i will go with the stock can maybee i can sneek up on everyone since they are used to hearing me comming with that can lol.

It wont be on bare ice the groomer will be making a few passes on the lake sice the poker rally that usually happens on that weekend was cancelled my freind convinced the local snowmobile lodge to allow the groomer to make a few passes on the lake should be a good time had by everyone.

Dude! That's like 7400'? I bet you were going faster then that at 3500' mark.
LOL... YamerDown, my bad! I mean't 1/4 mile! Sorry....
1/4 mile is 1350' right? I had all of my runs in the 93's... 93.1, 93.5, 93.6...
THe F7 was hitting 94-96... I know it beat my Viper, but my Viper was posting better than any 600 out there, and faster than other 700's and even 800HO's! I was extremely happy! :)

Ok, that's better. Was trying to figure out how that cat guy was rebuilding the motor that fast to be close to you in a 1.4 mile run. They don't last that long on a WOT run, lol.

As for posting better then any 600, it should IMHO, and yah its fun to smoke those 800HO. Got a few last year when I was single piped. Boy were they happy....
