O.K. I have been reading past threads all morning about handlebar risers and still have not found a Definate Yes or No answer.
Will a ROX 3.5 pivot riser fit on a 02 viper (not MT) without new cables or cable extensions or electrical wiring changes ????
I currently have a powermadd solid block 2 inch and in my opinion that is as far as I would go, but I read that the pivot gives you the xtra forward position so you can use stock cables.
Also what are the best fitting hand gaurd systems ? I have short blue cobra windshield.(don't think hand gaurds will interfear. :2strokes:
Thanks,

I have an 04 with power madd pivot riser and 2 inch block(3.5 total) if I remember correct. I had some chaffing on the harness from it rubbing the base so I split a piece of heater core hose and put it around the wires and taped it up.

I had a Sportech 2" block and changed to a 3.5" Rox and went with Mt Viper cables cuz my stock cables were too short.

nope, you may be able to get away without redueing the electrical but oil, throttle and brake will need to be lengthened.

I am not sure about a viper mtn but I put a 5.5" rox riser on my 01 MM 700
Stock throttle cable rerouted over the air box, oil cable in the stock location
and new longer brake line. All wiring was long enough.

I put a 3.5 Rox pivot riser on my 02 viper without buying longer cables, just had to reroute them. No problems,2,500 miles since the 3.5 rox pivot riser and excell seat riser combo and absolutely love it

I put a 3.5" rox without any mods to my 02' viper. Just watch those small wires for the hand and thumb warmer.

Use the Rox handguard mounts with whichever handguards you prefer. See my "garage" for pics of mine with 2" Rox risers, Rox billet hg mounts and Powermadd Star series guards with extensions and mirrors. The Rox mounts are excellent.

I would like to see some pics of your routing of cables and such if you were able to get a 3.5" Rox riser on there if possible. I am thinking about going with a 5" Rox now but would like to know where you guys are routing to get the extra length needed from the stock cables. If stock and 3.5" works then Mt viper and 5" should work as well I am thinking. Thanks

Rox 3.5 riser

Thanks to Yamaouch08 & Yamasquaw , I got my ROX 3.5 riser and installed it this weekend,on my 02 Viper. I had no trouble at all, I just loosend up some of the zip ties and put the riser on , USING ALL EXSISTING STOCK CABLES ! I have no binding or rubbing anywhere. They work and look great Thanks again for the spot on advice guys !
I am in the process of making my own viper seat riser , should be awesome when its all done.

Rox 3.5 riser

Yamerdown,
It is called Rox Signature Series Pivot Riser. Part # 59-5131 from denniskirk.com $80.99
It is a double pivot and no you don't need to buy anything else, it hooks right up with stock clamp and bolts.
I would suggest a seat riser if you don't have one , because the bars are really high now. I am 6'1" and I have no problem standing straight up and riding now, it gives you a whole different level of control over the sled.
:2strokes:

I can try, I have a problem trying to put pics on this site, it keeps telling me they are to big, I am not very computer literate. I can send them to you e-mail.
I really didn't change much thought , just loosened up some of the zip ties, didn't have any problems.

I'd like to see the pics as well. I just picked up a brand new Sportech Universal 3" pivot riser for $10. I can't wait to install it. I ended up buying 3 from this place since they were on clearance at $10/each!

Please post pics or e-mail them to me and I will post them.

I have a powermadd 2" riser right now, but am wanting a little more height, just don't really want to start changing out the cables and brake line.

pic's

I tried to download 4 pics and 1/2 hour later the system says my pic files are to big . give me your web address outsde this site and I will send you some pic's . You can post them.

I never re-rerouted any cables on my 02' viper to fit the 3.5" rox riser. I guess it depends if your riser is laying towards the rider or in a straight up postion. If its towards the rider you may need more length. If its more vertical it takes the slack from the cables.

I have a 3.5 Rox Signature Series on with MM bars which are a little higher than the Viper stock bars. I rerouted the cables, and the oil pump cable is the tightest but I was able to get it to work at full turn. It is great being able to turn my handlebars all the way again. I like my bars as far forward as possible so I can stand over the gas tank (just don't sit down quick).

Some of you may remember that my bars (especialy the brake lever) would hit the windshield at about 1/4 turn. This wasn't too bad on the trail, but sucked off-trail.

The bars are really high for setting down, but I hope to add some sort of a seat riser soon. Whenever I get the tunnel swapped I will put on a Boss seat. Of course by then it will be time for a new sled lol.
