Hey guys heres where i am at. 2001 SRX trail ported

I started with 4.5 in the heel and 5.5 in the tip (Heel Clickers), Bender 50/40 green wrapped at 60

Out of the hole would jump to 8500rpm and on a 3000 foot radar run i would be under reving 200 to 300rpms at the gun at 3000 feet. In about 6inches of powder i would not be able to get over 8000rpms. Best speed of the day 114.5mph and it was about 32F or 0C

I removed .5 from the heel so i'm at 4grams. The tip i removed 1 gram so i'm at 4.5. Out of the hole it over revs to about 8700rpms then going past the gun i'm under reving 200rpms. I tried different wraps 60, 70 and 80 but noticed no change. With 6inches of powder i can get around 8500rpms. Colder day (23F or -5C) best speed was 112.6mph.

Any thoughs or changes you can think of so i can get 8500rpms out of the hole and going past the gun at 8500rpms

Keep 4.5 grams in heel & try either 2 or 3 grams in the tip. Try secondary wrap at 70.

In 6 Inches Of Snow And 0 Degrees With A Srx Two Things Are Probaly Happening One Your Overshifting And Two Your Probably A Little Rich In The Jetting , Easy 200 Rpm There , OVER Wrapping Your Secondary Spring Tighter Will Only Cause Your Clutches To Overheat In 6 Inches Of Snow . Keep Your Heel Weight , Whatever You Rob The Tip From Add To The Heel For That Condition And Run A Steeper Finish Angle On Your Helix , But Dont Expect A Srx To Perform Great In That Condition ,

Thanks Turk and Thanks Harness Racer.
I will add .5gram to the heel and remove 1.5grams from the tip and test this weekend.

i try to fix the same issue here bender ill let u know ...under rave at 75 mph from 8500 to 8200-8300

i'm sure tip is to heavy but just not sure where to add some for the midrange overrave middle or heel... try heel like turk suggest and let me know :-)))

hey by the way did u find my gloves pretty cold on sled without gloves lollll

I should borrow SNOWRULES clutches for ya and let you give them a try, but only if you give them back! Some how i don't think he'll be using them.

Na, then you might be too fast, keep tinkering, lol.

hey bender if i don:t go radar myself on lake sunday maybe ill come down and help u out a little again :_))

JMO. Get rid of the heel clickers. Tried them and hated them. 8BU-10 with 4.5 gram in the tip. 47/43 Helix, Red spring 3-3, 60% twist. Gr-Wh-Gr primary. This set up has me hitting 120.9 mph in 2000' and 125.4 mph in 2500' This is on a totally stock motor.

Hey Mod, sure no problem come on down sunday for sure if you can't bring your sled, just hang out, lots of good people and nice sleds. Theres a couple a pairs of gloves there, ones probley yours.

Yamer i would love to try his clutches, since he might not be using them this year, but i hope he does, is he goignto bring the SXR out this weekend?

Hey Blue4U, the year is almost done, so i'm going to finish the year off with this setup and see what it can give me. Those are some good speeds your running, have you done anything to the suspension or chasis? I have wrote down this setup and might try it next year. Thanks

Lastnight i added .5 to the heeel and removed the big bolt in the tip to the smaller one but i can only get down to 3.5 grams in the tip. I will need smaller bolts for the tip to get under 3grams, No testing lastnight, because the track was not plowed plus i have a broken idler wheel in the back, so i don't want to run untill its fixed.

thats sucks about the iddler ... well maybe ill bring the sled but i can't drag on ice but maybe i could if i found some hard pack .it would be nice to try vs your sled ......you can go down on tip again u will need to grind all head bolts a little to bring them all equal

Grind the thread, not the head. Just make sure you put a nut on it before you start grinding, so i clean the last thread up when you remogve it.

there is no one optimal clutch set up for all conditions. what works best on ice, will overshift miserably on a snowy surface. correct it for the 6 inches of snow, and suddenly you're over revving on the ice. clutching is similar to jetting, as an example, in that there is an optimal tune for every given condition. ideally, you need to change your state of tune for each day and for each surface you run on. we don't do this, however, so as a compromise we set our clutches to perfom best on the surface we run on most often.
