Clutching Help TURK or MRVIPER

Thanks guys i was thinking about grinding last night, might have to do it to get another .5 out of the tip, i will now better tomorrow night or Saturday when i test.

Modsrx bring that sled out

Essarex I know i'm not going to get the best clutch setup in all conditions, trying to clutch for 90% of what i usally ride in. This year has been bad for us because we have been getting tons of snow. (not that i am compaining) Usally we have hard pack trails and i do alot of radar runs. Right now i am alot closer than i was at the beginning of the season, i had to much tip weight and in the powder my clucthes were working against each other. I'm really close right now to what i want. Last night when i rode home after adding the weight back to the heel and removing from the tip in 8inches of powder my revs were around the 8500rpms. I still think when i go by the gun i will be under reving a little but should be close. Thanks for your imput tho

hey bender if u take those small bolts 3.5 gram and add a nuts on it and cut the extra it will lower them to 2.7 .. i just did mind and add some heel gramm will see what it change :-))

Well guys i tested my setup this weekend after adding some weight to the heel and removing .5 from the tip. I'm running 3.5 grams in the tip and 4.5 grams in the heel. Well on my first run, and its the best i have done so far 117.8MPH. I was really happy, while letting it cool a buddy ran his apex at 118.2 so i was hoping to beat him because on the fisrt run i hit a bump (Some guy decides to drill a hole for ice fishing on the radar track) and i could feel it slow me down when the skis went in the air. So on my second run i new i wasn't going as fast as the first run because my speedo would not go over 180kms and i netted a 110mph on the first run my speedo was almost 200kms, the 3 run was the exact same. The sled feels normal down low so i think i might have lost a power valve. I will check them out tonight. My rpms going passed the gun were bang on at 8500rpms on the first run. The others i did not look because i was trying to watch for the bump so i didn't hit it.
Any body got any other suggestions why i would lose almost 8mph?

No, couldn't get the trailer out and didn't have the time to invest in riding there. Not sure I could have even made it anyway, lol. Wish I'd gone though; temps were good for setting some good top speeds.

No instead I did some local riding, boondocking off the rail bed and playing around in the abundance of powder. Must not have been trying hard enough though as I never really got stuck. Can real close at one point, but bailed off the side and let it float back to the top. Then was able to get going again and jump back on.

Funny thing was I'd changed my clutching in anticipation of the radar runs, so needs less to say it wasn't optimal for the deep powder. Actually ran pretty good considering (still pulled 8800 RPMs), but stuck the belt in the secondary a few times because I had the wrap so loose, lol.

I'd also tightened my track up before I went out and to my suprise it ratcheted a few times on me in the deep stuff. I had it so it would hand down approx 3/4" on the stand (no weight). Guess that's still too loose. I'll put another 1/2 turn on each and see if that fixes it.

That's all for now....

Yah, my 1" predator works pretty good. Very impressed! Slightly taller suspension helps too I guess. Going to have to get a 2" riser next year though. Bars are way to low for standing and carving powder. Rode my neighbours Apex RTX and although its a heavier machine, it seemed better balanced to carve powder with. Very impressed, could just be my next sled, lol.

well its not cause its to low or ride bad ..its just the motor always run crappy went u need power to climb or run in straight line in powder.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr next time ill will bring a glad bag and wrap the hood ....

Forgot to say, nice run man! What did the Vipers run, if any showed up?

Wish I was there, but with that much powder I had to play.

No Wind switch and no lunch lol, No vipers were running a few firecats from Quebec city and all the boys from Quebec, I got to see a new Nitro supercharged do almost 130mph and a new 40th anniversity LTX built by Simmons CPR, it was in the 130's

hey bender did u see my friend barber with is f7 he was suppose to be there and maybe sisco with is f7 (f8) he dyno is f7 and he made 170 hp out of it ... hope for him he did great result on track

I don't know their names but, there was 2 brothers 1 with a XCR and 1 with a f7 black then there was Eric orange firecat are these the guys. They both ran around 122mph

yes they are those guy .....the f7 black well is not a real one lolll not sure about the orange one ..

The orange one is a 800 and the other F7 (Black) must be at least a 800 or bigger because his brother with the xcr said he sould be running faster. The XCR i think ran 127mph and its for sale for 3500, which i think is ia smoking deal because it is so clean and very fast.

yeah i think the brother of sisco(francis) buy a f7 too so must be why the xcr is for sale :-)) that f7(800) make 170 hp on dyno not bad at all loll

for long distances like 2000-3000ft, I wouldnt be running heel clickers but something like a 89a10 with some bolts and nuts in the tip and 50/36 helix. Heel clcickers are a awesome drag and aggressive trail weight, nothing grabs the belt like they do, but when you really stretch out the distance I would go to a differnt style weight myself personally.
