2001 srx top speed

i bought a 2001 srx used, i been riding it while i repair my apex, i was out with a friend of mine and hit a long straight and i passed him on his vmax 4 till 91.1 on the gps and then he blew past me like i was sittin still, we stopped and lined up next to each other and the same thing i was smoking him till about 90 and then he blew past me like i was standing still. i checked the belt and its ok, i did notice that i had put in br9es plugs and the belt cover sticker called for br9esc and my rpm stayed right around 8000 when it was wide open, is this about right or should i be looking into the clutchs, i would hate to messwith it to much because i ove the way it launches out of the hole :bump:
 
The reason he went by you is because your running 8000 rpms.You want to be at 8500.
Is your power valves set right that will make a huge difference in mph if there off.
Br9es are fine long as your not holding it wide open for miles.There just and extra insurance plug.If you you know how to check piston wash run the br9es if not stay with ecs plugs.
 
You probably have pulled thru powervalve(s) cable(s). 99% of the time if your underrevving & getting crappy top end this is the problem. Look there first.

Also, Is the Vmax -4 a 750 or 800. My 800 is quite a bit faster than my friends 750. SRX should run right with the 750 and edge it out on top end.
 
You Probably Have A Pull Through On A Power Valve , And Why Run Br9es , Srx Are Made For The Lake ,put The Right Plugs In , Fix Your Broken Powervalve And Hold Her To The Bar , Pick A Big Lake 5-6 Miles Or So And Tell Your Buddy With The 800 That The Race Is Not Over Till You Get There , And One Of Two Things Will Happen , 1- Hill Run Out Of Fuel Or 2- He Will Need A Tow.....lol..., If You Need Power Valves Pm Me I Got A Complete Set Incl . what about the plugs for a 99 srx 600, same plaugs, the ecs's or run the es's, my machine came with the es's and i didn't know about the ecs's.

I was told when I bought my SRX, this winter, that if you run the ES's they could hit the piston at high rpm? The ECS has a recessed tip. I compared the two and it appears that the ECS is slightly recessed.
 
DONT WORRY ABOUT THE RECESS ...your ecs will make a NICE!!!!!!!!!! hole in your piston on the exhaust side ....use th proper plug its cheaper than a piston kit and ??????????
