Anyone here have the quick nuts from Yamaha on thier transfer rods? If so, how do you like them? Do they freeze up while riding, are they really worth installing? -Ed

I've got the Max Perf on mine...but they are identical to the Quicknuts...and no..mine haven't frozen up yet...infact...I mentioned in a few post.between the Transfer Rod changeover and a Torque Limitor...I was surprised at how much you can tell the difference...the Quick nuts just make things way easier to adjust and transfer...

If you want freeze up, get the Bender ones! The Yamaha adj nuts are simpler and easier IMO. Have both and prefer the Yamaha variety.

I have purchased the factory Yamaha blue ones and would like to know the easiest way to install them. The only directions that came in the package said to oil the threads & o-rings and install with the non-threaded part of the nuts up. Do I have to remove the skid to install these? And do I remove both stock nuts and install these in thier place? If someone has a picture of yours installed on your sled that would be real helpful too. Any and all information is greatly appreciated. Thanks, -Ed

The Yamaha quick nuts are better with no freeze. Install per instructions and you do NOT have take the skid out.

Do you have a copy of the instructions or know where I can get a copy? Mine did not come with any instructions. I would really like a picture of a set installed on a sled ( a picture is worth a 1000 words!!). I bought these things last year and would really like to get them on so I can use them this year. PS- what is "no freeze"?? Do you mean they do not freeze up while riding??
I don't think I have my instructions but, if I remember it was pretty easy.
*Loosen the track all the way so the nuts are at the end on the rails
*Remove the nut in the bottom of transfer rod with washer
*Remove large rear wheel and washer
*Carefully with rubber mallet if needed ((with the nut on the end)) push out the rear shaft 2". Just enough to get a wrench in. If you push it to much its harder to put back together. This gives you room to get a wrench or allen on the bolt of the transfer rod.
*Do one side at a time and lay out the plastic washers the same.
*The nut threads on with a little grease on the o-ring towards the top.
*Re-assemble make sure you put on lock tight blue on the transfer rod nut that goes into the rails.
Check with manufacture for exact instruction for installation.

I think i may still have a copy on my computer, let me see if I can dig them up. I was going to buy a set off a member but never got around to it. Hopefully he will chime in again.

Thanks, that would be very much appreciated. Hard to believe with all the Vipers on here and no one has a picture of any installed on a sled.
