Upshifting to fast and overshifting the clutches

If I was on a trial system, guess my speeds would be down and that would be boring for me.I go for a couple of hours full bore and when tank gets to that 1/4 mark..I head on home and park it for the day.
.
Oh come blue
The trails are great to ride, they are only boring around here. You get into the Lac du Bonnet area and they are alot of fun. Heck, from Elma to Anola we averaged 90 mph on Wed.
Hope to meet you on the Red some day. But if you see my roof in your back yard will you please send it back.LOL
WOW is it windy again!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stein..I see your damn roof.I'll tow it back to your house with the X.You were up late last night typing on here.I am going on the Red today after 1:00 pm,maybe 1:30.Sled is fueled and doing a helix spring change yet and greasing up and I am gone.

Still waitin for my roof LOL
How was the Red? You got that monster dailed in yet or are you still playin?
Tied up all day with kids hockey and extended family b-days. I just can't seem to get out during the day, only night rides.Maybe I can get out Sunday afternoon after my son's last game of the year (I hope) .
Was going to take a short ride with my son on my old sx . Didn't last long. Went to fill it up and POOF now it has no sparky sparky. :o|
Had 45 min to ride around and it took me all of that to walk home and get the Viper to tow it home.
And that is why two sleds are better than one.

Got the beast running good now. There was about a good 3-4 inches of powder on the Red today. The powder slowed me down a bit, still hitting 100 anyways.I have my SXR as my backup sled just in case.It doesn't get used much anymore, but when the season is ending and it is getting mild and slushy..it will be the one I will be tearing up the snow with.Got a 1 1/4 ripsaw on it and it grabs great.I will be looking for things to jump with that sled. And will try to get stuck with it...try that is.I just keep it pinned to to max and that 600 keeps ticking with over 10,000 km's on it.
Got to ride tomorrow because rest of the week will be above 0 C and the snow will become soft and slushy and when it all freezes,it will like riding on concrete.Good for the hyfax then, but have ice scratchers on it anyways and my hyfax stays in great shape otherwise.Season is coming to an end soon...or is there gonna be a big sotm like we had in 97,in April yet..you never know.

hey blue just came back from mont'laurier and it fall like 45 cm in trail and let me tell u the srx is not a great sled for powder :-(( never seen my sled running like shit like that today jesus ...finaly didnt make it and ask for a ride to go at trailer .....

Even with a new 3-4 inch base on the river here,my speed is down on the X. I am going to loosen up my track more and let off the limiter straps some to.Also gonna back off the preload on the shock ski's some also.
I hit 110 mph on a -3C day,but today being -9C I couldn't get more then 102 mph out of her.My clutches are running cool to.

running a 51/43 helix now.I ran black marker lines on the primary clutch sheave to see how high my belt rides. It looks like about 1/4" from the top.But I can still see faint black lines where the belt has past, and them marks should of been erased with belt against it.I need more belt pressure I think. What if I try 15mm rollers instead of the 15.6 ones.I know that drops my engagement and will raise my wot rpm's.Can change primary spring with more preload. If I can't drop my wot rpm's with a red spring, then may have to go back to stock 47 helix, which will drop rpm's.

nope big mistake to go in powder with srx lollll... better buy a tundra jesus almost scared to let that sled in the trail and come back walking.....great it seem like your sled gain speed a little

blue monster, you said that the smaller 15mm rollers will raise your wot rpm's. I think you ment to say the opposite, cause don't they lower max rpm's, due to the increased force they put on the movable sheave?

I know it will lower engagement, and if it lowers wot rpm's then I can play with secondary spring, maybe green to get wot on track.Like to try it to see.
When I had the HC's in with 15.6 rollers, had my wot spot on.Then I put in the 15mm rollers, same weight and spring and rpm's climbed300 rpm at wot.

huh....I would of thought the oposite. well, I guess a guy doesn't know until he tests and sees the results for himself. hope you get it figured out. I wish I could help, but don't know enough about clutching yet, for me to feel comfortable, giving out advice on what to do. hopefully turk or mrviper chims in hear. I bet they get sick of helping all of us ty'ers out:)

are you still playing with your clutching??????? Me and Harness Racer have my SXR700 (not srx) doing about 110mph in 2000ft. Cant wait to see what it will do flat out.
You should be getting the same with your srx. Too bad we were not closer. You should be able to make your 51/43 work very well.

What I did to get mine to rev on top is I got a 51/40 helix and now it over revs even in the snow so that means I can put more weight. with my stock helix and the 51/43 I was always under reving.
