Are you sure it's a top end problem or is it a carb, clutch problem??

The carbs get plugged up fairly easily and need to be cleaned often. It's very cheap insurance against a meltdown not to mention better performance. They should really be cleaned every year at the start of the season. If you haven't done it more than likely they could use it. The main problem area is the pilot jets. Since they are so small (the passages in them for the gas to flow through) they can easily get plugged up.

From my experience Sta Bil alone is not enough. Some people on here swear that it is but I have still had plugged pilots even though I had Sta Bil ran through it. Not just sitting in the tank either. Put in the tank then ran long enough to get it into the carbs good. They can still plug.

I dont have the thin head gasket, I was going to but gas keeps getting more and more expensive. $ 1.23 a liter . The sled pulls good at the bottom end but i can only get it up to like 75 - 80 Mph. when i first got it i could see 90 mph easy. Maybe it is a clutching problem , I have never had them serviced. The only things i did with the sled are reed spacers 1" lug track and 96 studs. Thanks for all the feedback.

I am in the same boat here as well. Plus I got an m-10 on the way so I hope it doesnt take too much of the top end.
