So I have heard about thinning head gaskets out. Mine is still 3 piece. Should I take it down to one? And will it really make that much of a difference? Are there any down falls to this? Will I have to run Premium fuel or change jettting. Will the longevity of this engine be effected. Thanks guys.

With todays sh*ty gas and price,i'd leave it stock,it will wake the sled up
nice but yes you would need to run Premium fuel ALWAYS from there on out.

Ok; Thanks Daman. What about main jets? Stock is 151.3. I need to go a bit leaner; what would you recommend for size? Is 150 the next size down and how do you describe this jet? small or large? When I go to get one.

yes stock is 151.3,you could go 150 but that would put you lean when
it get's real cold,i'd leave it at 151.3 IMO,but just my $.02..

it's just called "Main jet"

PM Mrviper. He might get back with you. He peeled a friend of mines head gasket (chadg) on his 97 600.

The thickness in that gasket is rediculous!!

We put a .6mm head gasket on my friends 97 600 XTC and it's definitely noticeable. He was scared to do it but I talked him into it and he hasn't had any problems with it at all. DO IT!

I haven't done it cause I have triple pipes but I heard is a good cheap mod. I think with pipes you wanna run 2 layers....and 1 with the stock exhaust system.
