Okay so I took the carbs off again and was really thorough in cleaning them, I was referring to the faq carb cleanin part on this forum. All passages were clean when I put them back on and It was running properly when I connected the lines, rpm was idle at about 1500 no choke , about were it should be, anyways I spent 15 mins putting the rest of the stuff on and closed the hood and then it was doing the same thing, Idle at 2500-3000, and bogging down when I gave it gas until 5000rpm. I dont know what Im missing here. I checked the crank seal and thats fine, I sprayed carb cleaner on it and rpms didnt change at all. I think I might have to take it to the dealer, what a piss off, Im sure its probably something stupid also.
make sure you don;t pull the trottle cable

what about the old gas in the tank, fuel pump etc.might be a long shot but remove your air box and drain your carbs into a clean container and see if there is more contamination.blueflash said:Okay so I took the carbs off again and was really thorough in cleaning them, I was referring to the faq carb cleanin part on this forum. What exactly did you install back on the sled in the time between when you tested it and it was running OK and when you closed the hood and tried it? In reassembling the parts could you have leaned on the carbs which unseated them from the rubber mounting boots? Are any of the wires or cables strained or kinked? Why not reverse the process, diassemble it back to where it was running better and start adding parts one at a time and trying it? Keep working on it, I keep trying to help with suggestions. You'll solve the problem and will end up knowing a lot more about the sled.

ya I will try going in reverse and see at what point if any it starts running better. I tried to siphon as much old gasoline out of the tank as possible but I was never able to completely drain it. Do you think I should take off the gas tank and totally clean it out. Someone at work also mentioned to me about the needle and seat under the bowls could be stuck, but didnt know if it applyed to my sled, anyone know what hes referring too??

yes, it would starve for fuel all the way across the board though.blueflash said:ya I will try going in reverse and see at what point if any it starts running better.
