Went to fill up my 97 700sx today. Have not run it for two months or so.(back-up sled). Started on the third pull ( I love my Yammi). Hammered down to the gas station and filled her up. Pulled once -no start. Pulled a second time fired up and died.
HMMMM Pulled twenty more times and no go. Changed the plugs at the station and tried again.Still no go.Walked back home (1/2 a mile #$%&* ) and got the Viper out and towed it home. Checked for spark, none. Bypassed tors, Nope.Changed CDI and still no go. :o| Checked the stator, within spec, checked coils, all good.Have new plug boots already on. Did the wire harness retape and covered with wire loom last year.
How do I test the kill switch and the ignition switch? Thinking it must be in there or I'm I missing something else here??

I believe you just jump it...when the plunger (kill switch) is up, its an open circuit & when depressed its a closed circuit (grounded)…pull the handle bar pad off & look for a broken/rub wire…or jump it…

Yes I would think...cause if its stuck in the down position then unplugging one would pypass it...give it a try...I'm not sure but on some you can pell back the top decal & use a small screw driver & remove the the cap & spray some dielectrical spray to free it up...

stein man o man>you having fun or what.Maybe something plugged up inside your carbs, since it was sitting for a couple of months.Going riding tomorrow on the Red again. Was at the Rat River also today.Nice bit of snow we have now for riding..eh!!!!Walked home 1/2 mile..must of been swearing all the way there.Which garage station you talking about..the co-op.

Yep the Co-op.Its the only one we have in this town. Real fun walking home.
Lots of fuel and no sparky sparky. Ran real good to the Co-op tho.
Trying to sell this machine to my neighbor so I can buy my oldest a sled. Be nice to go on some father/son rides.(the poo 120 is very hard to drive with)
Kind of a hard sell tho when it will not start. lol or not

Lol!!!!!!!!

Maybe you forgot to open the kill switch after you stopped the sled at the station.Thought about that!!!Now that would be embarrasing. You walked home, wife couldn't pick you up or what?LOL#$%&*

to many birthday parties in your life there.lol
Yeh, tooooo many parties

:offtopic: LOL
My four kids have 30 kids in their classroom each. So the potential of being invited to a b-day party is almost weekly.Plus my wife's side with three siblings and there kids, always keeps us busy. Never mind the seven times a week I am at the hockey rink with one of my own but I have still managed to put on 1400 miles this year.
I love sledding but family always comes first for me. Can hardly wait for the year that all of us can enjoy going for a ride.

I don't know if the wiring is the same on ur sled or not but on my 95 500 I could just pull the plug off the key and it would bypass everything.

Ya could try it. Like i said i dont know if it will be the same with the age difference

Well on the way to the Red via 75,cops were sitting at the corner of 75 and where Red River Drive meets the Hwy.I stopped gave him the finger and fled. Now there are like 5 cop cars searching for me...LOL.My luck....
With all kidding aside..I did the lawfull thing.Good thing he didn't have radar pointed at me..I was coming down the the ditch at a good clip.
I came to a dead stop at the crossroads.Opened up my visor, looked both ways and proceded to cross. At the same time I waved at the dude,to show I am friendly,a peaceful rider. He still chased me!!!!dah.
Kidding again.Don't need to draw attention to myself.Did the right thing.Booted it from there to the river.LOL.Then i came closer to the bridge and another cop car cruising by me.I kept going.........gone to the Rat.
