79 et340 oval racer

I'm setting up a et340, for racing next year, If I was to keep the stock clutch what would a good setup be, any ideas. I have a complete clutch off a 77 ex340 also, for parts, or bolt on, was wondering if the ex's spring is alittle stiffer then the et's. I've never mess with the stock clutches, any parts out there for them? thanks

I was just wondering about the yamha clutch's, wondering if any performance parts are avaiable for them. In the 440 class we run in, some guys are still running with the stock setup, they do pretty good. With the price of everything going up, may have to stay with stock. If keeping stock, I know I need to raise the engagement, somewhat. Thats where the yamaha performance parts would come in hand, if still any out there.
 
A stiffer spring would help, you could also try removing some weights from the pawls (if there are any on that clutch)
Keep in mind that you want a 'smooth' engagement rather than a harsh one. Make sure you're clutch halves on the primary are almost touching the belt.

I have a complete stock clutch (yamaha) off a 77 ex 340, I think the weights are the same, but not sure if the spring is a little stiffer. I may swap them real soon, and get a tach, and see if there different. Right now the et 340, engages right off the idle.
