Friend has a 98' SRX that was sunk 1 time before he purchased it. His first ride, the ice opened up and he sank it a second time. It still ran fine for that year. The following year it had some big time issues and the dealer found a bad PTO case bearing. Well, this year it has a problem where below 3,000 RPM it pops and farts like crazy. He has put almost 800 miles on it but the popping and farting is getting on his case. The best part is if you slam a field and pull to the road and let off it blows a monster backfire and flames ( I think that is pretty cool ). Well, we all know it should not be this way, I think the problem is electrical as it only runs good over 3,000 RPM's ( or it sucks a seal tight and seals the case ). It's been sunk so the coils, ECU or stater could be bad. We have had it in for service and the dealer found the bad seal but can't tell us why it's doing what it's doing under 3000 RPM's. We don't have a spare ECU, stater or coil. Has anyone had this happen to them before. Thanks, Doug

The reeds were checked but it's backfired a lot since (could be cracked or chipped). It's not a bad idea to have a look at them as well. I have te carbs off it it now anyway. Thanks, Doug
