01 srx 700 pipes on a 98 700sx

I might be stupid for asking, but will 01 srx700 pipes fit on a 98 vmax 700sx? I did ask a dealer, he said no, because the hoods are different.

I happen to have a stock set of pipes off a 01 srx in my garage.

I'd go ahead a try it, but there's 230 miles between where I keep the 98 Vmax, in Northern MN and my garage in Mpls/StPaul area.

They are not even close to the same motor design.

it is not really the motor design that is the issue but the fact that the hood will not close. The pipes will not mechanically fit.
