Is there really a big difference on the Ohlins front end shocks? compared to the regular ones without the res. ? I keep asking me this, but I couldn't answer it, I just don't know what exactly it could do?

I have them on my 01 srx, and my buddy has an older srx with regular shocks, their classified as high performance, what i get out of it they won't fade when ridden hard.... Decent shocks.... The point of the resivoir is for the expanding Hydraulic fluid to have a place to go, also acts as a heat exchanger....

Alright, thanks for the clarification.
Does anyone know if they even made them for the viper?

The ohlins for the viper have clickers for compression adjustment. The reservoirs allow more fluid to be held in the shock witch when combined with the radiator effect of the reservoir allows for fade free riding when the trails get rough. Is there a differene between ohlins with remote reservoirs and the stock Viper skis? YES!!!

BIG difference IMO. I put 36PC's on the front of my 02' and my wife's S has them front, center and rear. That S skid rides so much better than my Pioneer revalved 02' it's rediculous. Some guys might argue that to do Ohlins on the skid it is just as cheap to replace the entire skid. Less work IMO to do the Ohlins and the ride is worlds better than stock once set up. Plenty of adjustment with these shocks and top notch quality. If I had the extra coin I'd have them under the rear of my 02' also.
Oh, they make non resy fronts, resy fronts with comp adjust, and resy fronts with comp and rebound adjustment for the Viper.

Seen a set for the front on EBAY lately (red coils with reservoir)
Have a look see there.
