or it will put you in the grave.....Does anyone cut the cluctches to get the belt to ride up a little higher on the primary. Can I just take my belt sander to it and sand away a tad from the inside of each sheave...lol
there used to be a place in spokane, wa. called kinetic. they would machine and balance for the overdrive. had this done years ago and never really noticed a difference. if memory serves correctly, it was a progressive angle change to both sheaves to bring the belt higher in the primary.

We sell overdrive sheaves if you need one for $115.00. You will also have to use a after market helix to make it work.

Donahue Super Sports cut mine to make it an over clutch back in '02. We had two sleds set-up an '00 and my '02 both were 600sxr's. I don't know what they charge for just the overdrive, they offered it in thier "pro-max kit", which was about $500. The sleds have Yamaha helix's in them, they may be stock I'm not sure. I know that they reclutched the primary at the same time.

there are three ways to do it. one is to remove .030 off each sheave at the center. if you go more, you start to get into your engagement area of the belt. the second method is to recut the clutch faces 1/2 degree on each side. then recut the bottom. this requires reclutching, resetting neutral. the third way is to install a new back sheave that is cut with a different angle.
the helix will need to be cut, spaced or an aftermarket one used to allow for shift out. also, unless your bolting on luck, you will need to do some clutching to see a gain.
the cheap one that gives a little gain is the one you cut the middle. take it to someone with a lathe.

Is it possable to remove some of the lip on the tower were the inside sheave tightens up against. That way the sheaves will still have its material and not crack after a while.Than remove the washers in the secondary so it will idle without a sqweal.I would work with a new clutch if you have any miles.

send them your primary & they will do the mod. you will also need to gear down or you won't recognize any gain & may even go slower.
