Noticed my headlight was sitting in to much on the top part.I touched it and it moves in easy.NOW WHAT??? Opened hood and also noticed the adjustment screw and spring are missing from the right side...ahhhhhhhh!!!.
Now begins he search for these 2 items in the belly pan and under the engine.Looked down between the pipes and saw the spring..what luck.Used my 18" flexible magnet and picked it out.Now for the next 30 minutes or so kept fishing every were under that stupid engine for the screw,no luck.Looked to see if it is laying stuck between the cylinders,carbs..etc...no luck.Stuck my magnet along side # 3 carb and fished it all over and bingo I got a bite. That was the screw I was looking for.
Had to take everything off on the hood to get that damn headlight off.Winshield comes off,the dash comes off and then the light. There was a rivet sticking out on the dash where the center of the headlight connects to,but the plastic was broken on the headlight that the rivet goes thru. What a bad set-up..a rivet, couldn't be a screw or a push connecter like on the front bottom on the windshied.Lucky for me I bought a spare headlight from e-bay a while back as a spare.Drilled out old rivet and had a bitch of a time trying to get a rivet and washers back thru the dash thru the headlight mounting hole on top. After some major cussing..it was done.Everthing was put back and the new headlight has it's low beam burnt out.Took that bulb out and put one of my originals back in.
Talking about time consuming. My speedometer bulb is burnt out,can I just pick one up at my local auto store or do I have to go thru Yamaha and pay mega bucks for it.I will check first.I had a fun night.Decided to wash all the grit off the skid today with a hand pump pressure tank with hot/cold
water mix.Cleaned the exterior of the whole sled, looks good .Waiting for some new snow now. This is my life, wife is at work anyways..nothing else to do.

If you are blowing that many bulbs you may have a voltage regulator problem.

Lol
Stein, sure bullcrap snow conditions now, tried a little riding but totally concrete style snow. Can't go more then20-30 mph without snapping the ski's.And the dirt and grit that the skid picks up is not good and lack of snow for lubrication is even worse.Yet last nite while working in the garage on the sled around 10:30..I hear a bunch of sleds go buy,are they nuts driving in this crap and at night yet.Funny thing ..I hear an ambulance roar by 1/2 an hour later.....lol.Praying for 1 more shot of snow, but it sure doesn't look good. The weather these days sure is unpredicable to say the least.
Sleep....what is sleep.Went to bed at 1:00am and got up at 6:30am,grabbed my coffee and went outside and hit the hot tub...SURE felt great.
