I used a 4 gram hc bolt on the tip of the weight without putting a washer under its head. The bolt tip made a approx 1,2mm groove in the spider pocket all the way the weight shifts. Should I stop using the outer sheave immediately?

I would not run that clutch with that type of damage...you must have seen picture of what kind of damage a clutch can cause...let alone the personal injuries...not worth it...IMO...a hood, guard cover or worse even your life or your buddies standing next to you when you launch that sled...

1-2mm is not much. I had to clearance my spider .020-.030 to run more tip weight and have not had any promlems.

No Henriette, the bolt was too long. There isn't too much slop in the bushings.

2 things to consider . . .

First structural integrity, and then balance. If these 2 are ok, I would run it. However chances are good that it may be out of balance now.

I mean the spider.. that's what needs to be replaced, not the sheave. Because the spider pockets are on the spider...
