Is there anyway to re-condition a battery the died and was left dead for a while.
I just picked up a 96 DX and the battery is actualy new but it died and was left dead in the sled. What if anything can be done.

Also does anyone know how much a battery for the dx runs usualy.

Have you tried recharging it already? They have some reconditioning battery chargers but I don't know how well they work or if you'd even need it for this battery. I got my battery for my SXR from Wal Mart for less than $40. The ones Wal Mart sells are cheap but they are distributed by Johnson Controls (they make Interstate batteries). I was going to buy the Yuasa one for mine but was low on cash so I just decided to go with the Wal Mart one.

I would just go buy a new one there cheap from Wal Mart and you'll know
they will last and not fail right away.

one tip is to remove the batt and bring it inside for the summer then just
charge it once anawile over the summer to keep up..

my batts last many many years..

Have you tried charging it?
Some sensing-type battery chargers will not charge a totally dead battery. If you hook it to another battery with jumper cables and then connect the charger to it, the charger will charge.
